My Favorite Cookbooks

Besides beauty blogging, baking is one of my favorite hobbies. I'm not much of a cook, but I can make a mean muffin. Since I got such positive feedback from my s'mores cookie recipe I thought I'd continue posting baking related things. Usually I find my recipes online, print them out, and put them into sheet protectors in a three ring binder. Sometimes I just can't avoid the temptation and purchase another cookbook.

1001 Cupcakes, Cookies and Other Tempting Treats ($7.99) is the most recent addition to my cookbook collection. I found my copy at TJ Maxx and what really sold me was the fact that every single recipe has a photo. Photos are incredibly important to me in choosing a recipe. They just make the food look so good! Plus it helps give me a guide of what end result I'm aiming for. The book has everything from cupcakes to brownies to some out of the box baked goods.

I purchased the No Bake Makery ($15.78) cookbook right when I started getting into baking near the tail end of last year. It has 80+ recipes that don't use the oven. It definitely peaked my interest as the oven in my apartment tends to run hot and makes baking a bit of a challenge at times (cookies always seem to burn). I was curious to see what sorts of recipes could come out of a cookbook that never uses the oven. My favorite recipe is for these pretzel bars that use marshmallows and chocolate chips! Yum!!

I'm always looking for new cookbooks or recipes to try out, so if you have any suggestions definitely leave them in the comments!!

xoxo Kayla
