Crown Brushes

I had been contemplating purchasing some new brushes for a little while now when Hautelook had a sale on Crown Brushes. I saw it as the perfect opportunity to try a new brand of brushes while fleshing out my brush collection some more. I picked up four different brushes and have used them for a little over a week now. First up is the Infinity Blending Fluff Brush C460 ($4.99) which I've been using to apply shadows all over my lid. I really like it and it reminds me a lot of the Real Techniques Shading Brush. It's a bit softer and looser than the Real Techniques one though. It's nice to have another brush in my collection that's good for packing on the shadow.

I'm still really unsure about the Infinity Round Blender Brush C457 ($4.95). It's packed and stiff with bristles and is almost too large to use near my lids. If I keep it to the far corners of my eyes it seems to do a good job, but it definitely should stay away from the crease. My least favorite brush is the Duo Fiber Crease Brush C430 ($4.49). It's just too weird and I haven't figured out how to use it. The white bristles are very far away from the more dense black ones and I just can't seem to figure this brush out. Does anyone have any tips on how to use duo fiber brushes?

My favorite brush of the haul definitely has to be the Deluxe Angle Blush Brush SS013 ($7.98). I've talked about this brush in my This Week's Most Loved #19 post a bit, but it's beyond perfect for applying blush. It's small enough to perfectly cover my cheek bones with blush and blends things out wonderfully. It's my first angled brush and I can't get enough of it. It's soft, loose, and easy to work with.

Overall I'm happy to have branched out from my Real Techniques blush world to give another brand a go. I still have my eye on MAC brushes though so those will hopefully be making an appearance in my life soon enough!

What are your favorite brushes to use?

xoxo Kayla
