Revlon Lip Butters

When Revlon Lip Butters ($7.99 each) first came on the scene I was unimpressed. The first one I picked up was "Strawberry Shortcake" (far right) and I just didn't find them as moisturizing or great as everyone else did. I preferred the Maybelline Color Whispers over them for the longest time. I'm not entirely sure when I gave lip butters a second chance. It was probably after my Bloglovin' continued to be flooded with posts about "Juicy Papaya" (far left), "Wild Watermelon" (middle left), and others that I just had to be missing something. I gave "Strawberry Shortcake" another chance before buying any more. I'm not sure what had changed, but I suddenly liked lip butters.

I'm thinking I had to give them a chance to warm up and become creamy. I was too quick to pass judgement. One of my biggest problems with all lip products is my constant desire to buy mauve/berry shades, so I've been making an honest effort in my lip butter acquisitions to make sure they all are different. In regards to pigmentation I find them either being spot on or a little too sheer. "Wild Watermelon" is the most pigmented out of my collection and sadly "Berry Smoothie" (middle right) is the sheerest. They're really easy to reapply without a mirror and are great everyday colors when I'm not trying to make a statement with my lips. Overall I'm glad I gave them another chance!

What lip butter shades do you own? Are there products that you've written off but fallen in love with after a second chance?

xoxo Kayla

  1. Juicy Papaya is my favourite, though there are so many more I would love to try. I keep buying bright pink, dark red and coral lip colours, and I need to branch out more!

  2. Juicy Papaya would be perfect as a sheer orangey/ it! I also wrote a review on the Lip Butters here>
