Modcloth Haulin'

ModCloth  has sucked me in again with their adorable items and really fantastic sales! For any of you who don't know, ModCloth is a online store that has a lot of vintage inspired clothing, quirky home decor, and really nice quality stuff. Plus they are constantly having sales to make their prices more reasonable. I purchase things way too often from's kind of a problem.

During my latest browse session I had my eye on the swimsuits. I had been eyeing their one-piece selection for quite a while, but it was only when they were having their 30% swimwear sale that I really started looking for a suit to buy. I'd say that I'm a pretty modest person when it comes to showing skin, and being heavily chested makes it nearly impossible to find a flattering two piece that isn't all boobs. So I wanted a cute one-piece that wasn't boring and plain like the racing suits I used to wear when I swam competitively. I spotted the Chevron the Waves One-Piece Swimsuit (now $43.99 but I got it for $32.99 during the sale) and knew I had found the one!

What I like most about it is how low it sits on the hips. Back in my competitive swimming days it was like all the swim suit companies were in competition to see who could get their suits higher up on the hips. I don't know how many times I pulled down the sides of my suits back then. Thankfully this suit sits nicely below the hip bones. I still am able to show a bit of chest with this suit too, but not too much that it defeats the purpose of a one-piece. Let's just say it's tasteful boobage (things are really getting awkward in this post today...). The halter ties nicely and overall I'm incredibly happy with it!

I have this terrible problem when shopping on ModCloth where I can't leave without looking in the apartment/home goods section. It's seriously an issue. I always end up buying something when I start clicking through there. This time I couldn't leave without picking up the Scoops of Flower Measuring Spoons ($24.99). How stinkin' cute are these, right?! I've been looking measuring spoons to balance out my geese measuring cups and these are beyond perfect. Plus they have the cute little pot to house them in when they aren't in use. They're really nice quality too so I'm not worried about breaking them too easily!

Oh ModCloth. How you get me every time! Right now they're having a sale where you can get up to 30% off summertime styles. I may have to keep my distance or risk spending my entire paycheck!

Have you shopped at ModCloth before?

xoxo Kayla

  2. I used to do competitive swimming as well and totally know what you mean about the swimsuits cutting higher and higher. Was it really useful or was it a fashion statement, I'll never know. But the new one that you have is so cute! xx
