22 Things I Learned at 22

Turning 23 just feels depressing. I'm sure it's largely due to the fact that I have a final tonight for my grad class and I won't be able to do anything to celebrate another year around the sun. Regardless I'm just not feeling too excited over this year's birthday. Yet I've learned quite a lot of things about myself and my life over this past year...

  1. Taking risks doesn't have to always be scary. Great things can happen (I'm looking at you Oh, Hello)
  2. It's ok to want to spend some time alone
  3. Family is super important, but it shouldn't hold you back from trying something new
  4. Grad school is boring
  5. If you're organized, you can accomplish so much more in your day
  6. Stickers are my life
  7. Don't expect too much from people as they will never be able to fully live up to your expectations
  8. A small group of friends is always better than a big one
  9. Keep at the things you love. They'll pay off in time
  10. Don't be afraid to like what you like, even if it's My Little Pony
  11. Take time to relax. It's alright to spend a night binge watching Netflix now and again
  12. Finding what makes you happy isn't always easy, but once you find it you should hold on to it no matter what
  13. It's alright not to be 100% all the time. Showing your weaknesses doesn't make you a weak person
  14. Relationships require work no matter how much love you have for the other person
  15. I don't want kids for a while
  16. I have very little patience for people who aren't living up to their potential
  17. The internet is filled with wonderful, kind people
  18. I hate small talk
  19. Finding a personal style doesn't mean having to get more clothes, it means having the right clothes
  20. I can be excited for scary new adventures
  21. Envy is not productive
  22. I still have a lot to learn

xoxo Kayla
