October Favorites

Why oh why have I gone so long without a favorites post or video!?! It's been a blast finally getting back into the swing of things and I couldn't be more excited to share the bits and bobs I've been loving lately. My tastes have definitely changed since my last favorites series and I've ventured beyond just makeup bits to talk about the stuff that really gets me giddy in the morning.

Alex has been really into comics lately and in an effort to show my support and understand the world, I started reading The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. It's basically the greatest thing I've ever read. It's hilarious, not too "I'm reading a comic book" feeling, and is all about an average girl who can defeat any evil villain. Girl power all the way.

Takenoko is one of those board games you can't help but love. You're on a mission to appease the emperor by completing tasks in various categories. You can either build a garden to his specifications, grow bamboo as the gardener, or eat certain bamboo as the panda. It's adorable and so much fun.

A few weeks ago I suddenly decided that I was going to make baking an official hobby. I've dabbled in it for a bit in the past, but have been feeling the itch to become more complex than just planners and stickers. I've baked quite a few things since then and couldn't be more determined to keep on getting better. My favorite cookbook has been the 1001 Cupcakes, Cookies, and Other Tempting Treats. It's definitely not a beginner's cookbook, but is still easy enough to follow along and make delicious goodies.

Of course I couldn't exclude some planner things in a favorites post since they are my life's bread and butter. I've been utterly obsessed with this monster pencil case and adorable Halloween BOO cover. Erin Condren kills it with convincing you that you need a cover for every holiday. I'm definitely working towards that goal as we speak.

For makeup and beauty I've fallen back in love with the Body Shop's Vitamin C Facial Cleansing Polish. I've ranted about this stuff for ages on this blog, but it's still an all around superb cleanser when you don't want fuss and you want your face clean. A surprise love this month is butterLONDON's Shadow Clutch Palette in "Natural Charm." I talked about it in another blog post recently so I won't go into too much detail here, but damn is that palette amazing.

Ah. It feels good to be back in the favorites game. What products have you been loving lately?

xoxo Kayla
