May Favorites

There's nothing like a favorites post to get you back on the blogging train! May was such a productive work month while still leaving plenty of time for family and adventures around Grand Rapids. Plus I fell in love with quite a few bits and bobs this month.

I've been loving pairing together the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation with my Beauty Blender sponge for a smooth, flawless finish that sits so great on the skin. I have no idea why it took me so long to really get into using a beauty blender. It's the perfect tool to keep my hands mess free while giving me a nicer finish than with just a brush. I love this foundation when my skin looks more uneven than usual and I want something to level it all out. It lasts ages and doesn't slip around in the summer heat.

Now I didn't plan on having three different lipsticks in my favorites this month, but I fell in love with two lipsticks from the new Urban Decay Vice collection and couldn't help but toss them into the mix. "Back Talk" is yet another staple mauve, neutral shade, but in a comfort matte finish. I use that as rationale as to why I have yet another one of these types of lipsticks in my collection. But you need a matte option right? It's not drying on the skin and lasts longer than other finishes of lipsticks too. I decided to include "Big Bang" in this month's favorites for how cool it is. It's a metalized finish and man is it glittery. But in a good way. You can definitely tell there's glitter in your lipstick, but in a way that isn't bothersome and creates a really unique look. It's definitely not something I'm going to slap on every day, but too dang funky not to talk about.

I also had to mention the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in "Pepper" although if I'm being honest it's just a darker version of my go-to shade. It is just different enough that I feel a little spicy when I wear it though and feel like I'm mixing things up even if I'm really not. The texture is amazing and even though I'm not a huge fan of the citrus flavoring, I can see the appeal to most.

I've been all about the non-beauty favorites lately and cant get over my doughnut phone case. It's a really cool matte texture and has held up amazingly for the amount of times I've chucked my phone into my bag and rushed out the door. You already know about my rekindled love for enamel pins from a recent post, but I still can't get over how perfect these pins are. Oh, Hello is actually coming out with our first enamel pin in a couple of weeks! The pin craze has only just begun and I can't wait to share more with you as we get closer to the launch of them!

Tsum Tsum figurines have officially stolen my heart this month as I've finally allowed myself to truly become a Disney fanatic. For years I played it off all cool like, but now I've finally come into my own and let the obsession begin. I love that these little guys can stack on each other and I will be getting more for sure.

What have you been loving in the month of May?

xoxo Kayla
