October Favorites

As the year draws closer to the end I swear the days just fly by. Today we're going to go to a Corgi event in downtown Grand Rapids. I found out about the event months ago and now it's actually here. Crazy pants. October favorites are in order and a lot of them will come to you as no surprise.

My obsession for leggings knows no bounds and it was a blast to film that segment for the favorites video. I wrote a whole post gushing over them. They'll be making an appearance until well past the time that it's too cold to wear them.

This was the first year I actually baked specifically for Halloween. I tried three different recipes and they all turned out really well and got me deep into the festive feeling. I tried to keep the decoration purchasing to a minimum this year as it is the first year in the house, but we did get quite a few decorations for outside.

Makeup wise I am loving the It Cosmetics Love is the Foundation heart shaped brush that donates one brush for every one purchased to the Look Good Feel Good Foundation. The campaign is to help women face the effects of cancer with confidence. I love a good cause that revolves around things I'm already interested in. You get a new brush and help a good cause. Nothing could feel better.

Enamel pin update: I'm still addicted. I finally caved and bought these Gilmore Girls enamel pins in honor of the new episodes coming out next month. Plus they were only $10 for the pair which is quite the bargain. After the show airs I'll probably move them off my bag onto my more permanent enamel pin board just to keep them safe. But until them I'm toting them around in style. I purchased them from Heartifical on Etsy just this past week, but they seem to be sold out currently.

No favorites is complete without a planner favorite. I'm finally taking advantage of the lined section on the back of my Erin Condren Planner cover to write removable to do lists. It's super easy to write things down, quickly erase finished tasks, and write new ones. Plus I love that I'm not wasting paper in the process.

Literature wise I finished Bloom by Estée Lalonde this month and really enjoyed reading non-fiction for a change. I wrote a whole review on the book in a past blog post so I won't delve into the details too much, but it's a nice, light read.

Finally, Alex recently added little twinkle lights to our centerpiece from Kirkland's and I'm obsessed with how it looks. He has it timed so it lights up every night and it looks so welcoming in our dining area. I can't wait to switch out the fall details for more winter ones!
